7.5. Harri Monni: The construction of unknown. The different concepts of nature and durance, as materialized in the painting code.

A talk reflecting on how the locus that forms the inside and the outside can be understood in the structure of painting and how the concept of nature is coded. The absence is also presence, where the meaning is oscillating between the existence of the painted elements but also between the importance of what is withdrawn, the missing has a presence as a void that is filled and has a given meaning.

Harri Monni is an artist and a lecturer in painting at the Academy of Fine Arts of the University of the Arts Helsinki.
