The Disappearance of the mouse
The Disappearance of the mouse is about the relationship between me and a small Yellow-necked mouse.
It was Christmas Eve in 2022. The mouse disappeared.
Months passed, snow melted, the lawn came out, snow fell on the ground again, the lawn started to turn green, the shadows moved in the yard. The small strip of forest had become important, and its importance grew day by day with the animals living there.
The yard wasn’t just our backyard, it was theirs. It had grown bigger, this little piece of forest, trees, stumps, a rock, a yard swing, a picnic table and a sandbox.
Humans were secondary.
Forest. A small place, big for all those who live there.
No mouse was seen.
Taiteilijasta
Jonne Heinonen (s. 1986) on suomalainen kuvataiteilija. Hänen moninaisissa teoksissaan arkiset hetket sekoittuvat unenomaisiin tapahtumiin nostaen esille kysymyksiä muistista, muistamattomuudesta ja meitä ympäröivästä tilasta. “Oon aina ajatellut jotenkin niin, että taide on vapaus olla ja luoda maailmaa just niin kuin haluaa ja se paikka on mulle positiivisempi kun tämä, jossa elämme.”
