KAROLIINA HELLBERG
1987 | Porvoo | painting
I see my series of paintings as part of a story, personal history or fictitious family tree of my own invention. The pictures illustrate a past that maybe never took place, focusing on the seemingly light and frivolous. The paintings have evolved through free association, but all of them are like chapters in the same unfolding narrative. The story is open-ended. Images are basically symbols, but they take on slightly different translations with each different individual.
