It was really hard to be prepared for being on the move for such a long time. The mechanical rhythm of progress. And the darkness. The lights puncturing the night. The blocks of flats and streetlights, the string of windows of the opposite coach and the glow of a lit cigarette. I wonder who had dug the utility poles to the hard ground. And who had put the tracks in place?
