I am interested in the politics and poetics of space, which includes the problematic of claiming and controlling a space. Currently, I am drawing from urbanity – from public and city space – as an arena that enables experiencing, use and engaging.

In my exhibited work, I delve into the making of collective art. I study the possibilities of using engaging art as a means of activating city residents. For me, the project is both a learning experience and a reassessment of what it means to be a visual artist.

The Flower Graffiti is a collaborative project. Its aim is to study urban culture and the way the local community experiences their living environment after the introduction of a zero tolerance policy against graffiti in Helsinki. Garden flowers comprise the material for the graffiti. The text and the visual appearance of the work are designed and actualised together with city residents and experts from different fields. The work will be planted in public urban space.
