MASTER OF ARTS NATURE

I use basic hardware store materials, including ropes, tarpaulins, buckets, ladders and scaffolding. I will use the dark green tarpaulins to make a spruce forest, while paint cans serve as tree trunks. Behind the forest there is a mountainous landscape, and over the mountains you can see the sky.

I am using common materials to provide a do-it-yourself nature experience, the paradise of a construction worker. Through the work, you can imagine being on a journey to a distant place. Traditionally, landscape paintings have been regarded as windows into another reality. My work presents an imaginary environment, but it is solidly chained into the ceiling and walls. You may walk around my landscape, but you should not hang on the branches.

Working fast and creating a spontaneous atmosphere is important in my work. I am not trying to hide any of the working phases, so cable ties are left in plain sight. The work is about a gesture of constructing nature, not a finished illusion.

It is important that the parts or the landscape can be easily disassembled and reused. When the exhibition is finished, I will take down the scaffolding and pile up the mountains.
