When I look around my surroundings, my gaze will stop at different points, creating tension between them. Similarly, when I paint, I look for different elements, focal points, which I want to connect with each other. Especially fascinating are improbable connections and their tensions, such as deliberate spontaneity, absence of presence, depth on the surface, simultaneous abun- dance and minimalism, getting closer while moving away...
