UNTAMED

Nature cannot be tamed.
A wild self-regulating organism.
We hit our spades in the ground.
Hissing our flag. This land is ours.
Cutting down trees, poisoning water
And air, killing deer.
So we can eat, work and sleep,
In peace.

We made machines,
To strike back and control.
We are getting better,
In killing and destroying,
And rejuvenating our soul,
Preventing errors,
Making our life complete,
Dreaming of immortality.

But nature cannot be tamed,
Or tricked, but we do so,
And while the grass still grows,
We lie dead under a broken tree,
Some of us
In peace.
